Whirlpool Recalls Glass Cooktops with Touch Controls — KitchenAid Included (2019)
Recall Overview
In August 2019, Whirlpool Corporation recalled approximately 13,100 glass cooktops with touch controls sold under the KitchenAid, Whirlpool, and JennAir brand names. The cooktops could be inadvertently activated by contact, including by items placed on top.
The recalled cooktops were sold at home improvement and appliance stores nationwide from May 2017 through July 2019. Consumers were advised to turn off the circuit breaker and contact Whirlpool for a free replacement cooktop.
