Whirlpool Recalls Glass Cooktops Due to Burn and Fire Hazard (2019)
Recall Overview
Whirlpool recalled approximately 26,000 glass cooktops with touch controls sold under the Whirlpool and KitchenAid brand names. The surface elements could be inadvertently activated by contact.
The recalled cooktops were sold from November 2017 through July 2019. Consumers were advised to turn off the circuit breaker and contact Whirlpool for a free replacement cooktop with knob controls.
