Whirlpool Recalls Dishwashers Due to Fire Hazard (2010)
Recall Overview
Whirlpool recalled approximately 1.7 million dishwashers sold under the Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Kenmore, and other brand names. A manufacturing defect in the electronic control board could overheat and lead to fire.
The recalled dishwashers were sold from January 2006 through April 2010. Whirlpool recommended not running the dishwasher unattended until the repair was completed.
