Samsung Recalls Electric Ranges Due to Fire Hazard (2024)
Recall Overview
Samsung recalled approximately 1.1 million electric ranges and cooktops. The knobs could be inadvertently activated, causing the units to turn on by themselves. Samsung received hundreds of reports including fires and property damage.
The recalled products were sold at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Best Buy and online from 2013 through 2024. Consumers were advised to contact Samsung for a free software update and disconnect power when not in use.
