Samsung Recalls Dishwashers Due to Fire Hazard (2017)
Recall Overview
Samsung recalled approximately 519,000 dishwashers due to a fire hazard. A moisture sensor could overheat, posing a fire risk. Samsung received multiple reports of overheating, fire, and smoke damage.
The recalled dishwashers were sold at Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy and other retailers from January 2013 through May 2017. Samsung recommended running the dishwasher only when home and awake until the repair was completed.
