Miele Recalls Gas Dryers Due to Risk of Gas Leak or Fire (2008)
Recall Overview
In April 2008, Miele Inc. recalled approximately 830 gas dryers because the gas supply connection could leak, posing a risk of fire or explosion. The flexible gas line connector could loosen over time due to dryer vibration.
Miele received 2 reports of gas odor near the dryers. No fires or injuries were reported. The affected dryers were sold by Miele authorized dealers from January 2004 through March 2008 for between $1,800 and $2,200. Consumers were instructed to stop using the dryer, shut off the gas supply, and contact Miele for a free in-home repair.
