Liebherr Recalls Built-In Refrigerators Due to Injury Hazard (2010)
Recall Overview
In June 2010, Liebherr USA recalled approximately 1,300 built-in refrigerators due to an injury hazard. The door hinge pin on the refrigerator could break, causing the door to fall off the unit unexpectedly.
Liebherr received 5 reports of hinge pin breakage. No injuries were reported. The affected units were sold by authorized dealers from January 2006 through May 2010 for between $4,000 and $8,000. Consumers were instructed to contact Liebherr for a free in-home repair.
