Liebherr Expands Recall of Refrigerators Due to Injury Hazard (2011)
Recall Overview
In December 2011, Liebherr expanded its recall of built-in refrigerators to include approximately 2,500 additional units. As with the original recall, the door hinge mechanism could fail, causing the refrigerator door to detach and posing an injury hazard.
Liebherr received additional reports of hinge failures following the original recall. The expanded recall covered units sold from January 2006 through November 2011. Consumers were advised to contact Liebherr for a free in-home inspection and hinge repair.
