Kenmore Dehumidifiers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard (2014)
Recall Overview
In 2014, Gree Electric Appliances recalled approximately 2.2 million dehumidifiers sold under multiple brand names including Kenmore. Gree received approximately 471 reports of incidents, resulting in about $19 million in property damage, 46 fires, and several injuries.
This was one of the largest dehumidifier recalls in CPSC history. Consumers were instructed to immediately stop using them, unplug, and contact Gree for a full refund.
