General Electric Recalls Microwave Combo Wall Ovens Due to Fire Hazard (2007)
Recall Overview
On December 5, 2007, General Electric recalled approximately 92,000 GE, GE Profile, and Kenmore brand combination microwave and conventional wall ovens. GE was aware of 35 incidents of property damage and one fire that damaged kitchen cabinets. No injuries were reported.
The ovens were sold from January 2000 to December 2003 for between $1,500 and $2,000. GE offered a free repair or rebates toward a new unit.
