GE Appliances Recalls Electric Cooktops (Monogram Included) Due to Burn Hazard (2024)
Recall Overview
In January 2024, GE Appliances recalled approximately 11,000 electric cooktops including models sold under the GE Monogram brand name. The cooktop’s burners could remain on after the knob was turned to the “off” position due to misaligned burner knob stems, posing a burn hazard.
GE received 83 reports of burners failing to regulate temperature or power off. No injuries were reported. The cooktops were sold at Best Buy, Lowe’s, Home Depot, and other stores from July 2022 through 2023 for between $1,110 and $1,220. Consumers were advised to contact GE Appliances at 877-261-1509 for a free replacement burner knob assembly.
